Christmas time will soon be upon us

With Christmas almost here, save some time and outsource your small jobs with Microjobs. This is the time of year when time is one of the things you could use more of. If you don't have time to do your Christmas shopping or clean your place before your celebrations then just place a new job here now.

Perhaps you need to make a little money to help out at Christmas time. You can make money with Microjobs too. Simply quote on jobs that you can do and help someone out.

HIRE ME and vanity profile link features now live

The HIRE ME feature is now live and ready to use. What this means is that you can now invite a user to quote on your job. It's very simple to use. All you need to do is visit the profile page of the user you would like to hire. On the right hand side you will see a Hire Me button in the options menu. When you click the Hire Me button you will be directed to the new job form to enter the job details as usual. Click next as you would when creating a job. Then review your job and then select the Create Now button. Once you click the Create Now button an email will automatically be sent to the user you have invited advising them of your request. Your job will also appear on the open jobs list as usual to also allow other users to quote on your job. If you are happy with the quote from the user you have invited then accept it as usual. However as other users can also quote on the job you may find that you can get a better offer elsewhere.

You may also be interested to know that vanity links have now been launched for your profile page. Have a look under your profile settings and you will see an option called profile link. Here you will see the link that you can provide to other people that will direct them to your profile page at MicroJobs. The link will be in the format www.microjobs.com.au/user/username.

The direct link to your profile along with the HIRE ME function are perfect for small business operators who would like to give their customers the freedom to book a job online. Your customers will be able to log in to MicroJobs and go directly to your profile page. From there they can select the HIRE ME button and you will be notified as soon as the job is created. You will then be able to manage the job all the way to completion from the MicroJobs site and it's all free.

Online or by Phone jobs now available

Posting jobs as "Online or by Phone" is now available at MicroJobs. Sometimes location does not matter for your job. Let's say you just need someone to make a few phone calls or you need to have a document reviewed. Perhaps you would like a website to be created, a picture edited or an article written. In these cases the location of the job is not important. So in the location section of the job form you can now select "Online or by Phone" instead of setting the suburb and postcode. This will open your audience to pretty much anyone on the planet earth and is a welcome addition to MicroJobs. The beauty of this is that you don't even need to be located in Australia to post a job and get results. For example you come from a non english speaking background, you are learning english and would like someone to check your spelling and grammer. What better way than to ask a native english speaking person for help. Or lets flip that on its head. You are a native english speaking person learning a foreign language and would like the help of a person who speaks the language. Post your job asking for help in your foreign language of choice and you are away. These are just a few examples of how you can use the new functionality of MicroJobs. The possibilities for new MicroJobs is now limitless. We would love to hear any other examples you can think of so leave a comment.
